The full terms and conditions for Beth Bakes are detailed below. It will be deemed that the following terms are understood and accepted as applying to your order, by receipt of payment of your deposit.
I understand the importance of the design to you. Whilst I will try my hardest to match your design/colour scheme, please remember all my cakes are handmade and therefore differences may occur.
Should you wish to change your order, please contact me soonest and I will do my best to accommodate. I will endeavour to adjust the design per request where possible, but sometimes this is not possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alteration(s) affect the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly, with your agreement.
Please take time to read and check the quote thoroughly. Any amendments should be made in writing.
Payment Terms – or Money!
To confirm an order, a non-refundable deposit of 35% of the balance or £75, whichever is the greater, will be needed to secure your date and cake order. The outstanding amount is to be paid 3 weeks prior to collection or delivery. For orders taken within 3 weeks of the required date, full payment is required upon confirmation of the order. Cakes are booked in on a first paid, first booked basis – if payments are not received, your cake will not be made.
We welcome bank transfer, cheque or cash.
Please email me with confirmation of bank transfer in order to prompt acknowledgement of the payment.
I offer a free delivery service within a 15 mile radius of SY10 9JQ, after which a delivery charge of 45p per additional mile will apply, this reflects fuel and time costs. Collection by appointment welcome. – just remember to drive home carefully!
Delivery and Set Up of your Cake
When delivery and set up is required, Beth Bakes will liaise with the venue to arrange and agree delivery times. Cakes will normally be delivered on the morning of your event, or occasionally, the evening before. If fresh flowers are to be used on the cake, contact with your florist is required to discuss the floral arrangement.
We cannot be held responsible for any decorations not supplied by Beth Bakes.
While Beth Bakes endeavours to deliver quality products and services, I cannot be held responsible for anything that could happen to the cake once successful delivery and set up is complete.
Cancellation must be made in writing to Beth Bakes.
Should you cancel your order lessthan 3 weeks before completion, please note that the full balance of the cake must be paid and that the deposit is non-refundable.
If you postpone your event, we will endeavour to transfer your order providing the date is suitable for ourselves; otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation (see above).
We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, during which we will refund any money taken in full within 7 days.
Beth bakes cannot be held responsible for any consequential losses and shall not be deemed in default of this Agreement for any cessation, interruption or delay in the performance of its obligations (excluding payment obligations) due to earthquake, flood, fire, storm, snow, natural disaster, act of God, war, terrorism, armed conflict, labour strike, lock out, boycott or other similar events beyond the reasonable control of Beth bakes.
Beth bakes will not sell your data or use it for any purposes other than communication regarding your order.
Beth bakes reserves the right to use photos of your cake on the website and on social media.
Once you have taken possession of your cake, please keep it in its box until required and place on a flat surface. Cakes should be kept in a cool room, away from direct sunlight and moisture until ready to display.
DO NOT PUT THE CAKE IN THE FRIDGE – This will cause condensation to form on the icing and may ruin any decorations.
Your cake will be at its best for up to 5 days after your event. Left over cake should be wrapped in either foil or cling film to maintain freshness and stored at room temperature.
Please note that some cakes may contain non-edible elements, for example, stacked/tiered cakes will have plastic dowels within the cake to support the tiers. Whilst most of the flowers, figures and cake toppers are handmade in sugar, THEY ARE NOT EDIBLE, as they may contain wires and other non-edible materials. These should be removed prior to consumption. Non-edible elements will be noted and given to you (or in some cases, the venue) upon delivery / collection.
Clients sometimes opt for fresh flowers as decorations on their cake. If you would like to use fresh flowers, please let me know and I can liaise with your florist to ensure your desired cake design is achieved. We can also supply fresh flowers by arrangement.
Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements
Gluten, Dairy and Egg-free cakes can be provided upon request. However, please note that although ingredients used will be gluten, dairy or egg free, they will have been prepared in an area where these ingredients have previously been used and may contain the slightest of traces.
Alcohol – Please be aware that small amounts of alcohol are used in some decorating techniques – if this is a problem, please let me know at the earliest opportunity as an alternative can be used
Beth Bakes is a registered, fully insured and has the highest 5* food hygiene rated business. I pride myself on my personal yet professional service.
